Marlena Rodriguez is a first-generation Cuban, Puerto Rican TV writer, comedian, and director who’s been writing and performing comedy since birth. She’s toured with The Second City, performed stand up around the world, and a Sundance Episodic Lab fellow. Marlena’s written on hit TV shows like Lord Miller's Clone High, Tina Fey's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, HBO's Silicon Valley, and more!
Marlena was Head Writer for Stephen Colbert's PICKLED, a Pickleball Tournament for Comic Relief, where she worked with such talent as Emma Watson, Will Ferrell, and living legend, Kelly Rowland. Watch it now on Paramount+.
Marlena's performed stand up around the world, was named a Comic To Watch by Comedy Central, and made her TV debut with a stand up special on HBO titled, About Last Night. Soon after she became was one of the first Latinas to do a set on Late Night television with her set on NBC’s A Little Late with Lily Singh. She's performed at Netflix Is A Joke festival and has featured for Josh Johnson, Adam Devine, Michael Che and more.
Most recently, Marlena directed Daniel Shar's one man show, "Near Sex For Work," for The Hollywood Fringe Festival, which the Hollywood Reporter said was, "so funny I almost had an asthma attack."
